Israel: revolutionary technology to control the pollination process

Pollination

Israeli startup BloomX has developed innovative biomimetic technology that allows growers to increase yields while using fewer resources, thereby reducing environmental impact. The aim is to help farmers meet the challenges of the market and ensure reliable and optimal pollination.

Pollination remains a relatively unexplored area despite its crucial role as the foundation of agricultural production.

Using cutting-edge devices and advanced algorithms, BloomX fills pollination gaps for producers, leading to better harvests.

The company's biomimetic solution replicates natural pollinators to increase yield by up to 30%, while providing professional agronomic support.

The technology notably imitates the buzzing of the bumblebee, the natural pollinator of the cornflower, by using mechanical arms mounted on an electric vehicle that vibrate the stems to release pollen grains onto the flower's stigma. Years of research and testing were required to calibrate the speed and strength of the vibrations. The advanced tools biologically replicate the work of bees, ensuring the pollination of each flower.

A predictive algorithm that tells producers the best time to pollinate, based on environmental data, has also been developed. Thus, the farmer does not waste time and the pollination process is as efficient as possible. With GPS receivers built into each device, growers gain full control and easily manage pollinated areas on a daily basis with all data accessible on one dashboard.

A revolutionary technology which has already made it possible to pollinate 52,000 avocado trees and 1,750,000 blueberry fields.
