Revealed on Instagram thanks to his original and humorous publications, the Israeli artist Guy Aga has used his talent to change mentalities and convey a message of unity while Israel is involved in the worst war of its history.

With a background in digital marketing, Guy trained himself in site creation and design, then he started to create with artificial intelligence. A precious tool that he never leaves behind. He has developed several projects using AI. “I fell deeply in love with this incredible software which gives access to a lot of very different aspects, in a fast way to create endlessly,” Guy Aga told Itonnews.

Expressing feelings

Guy works in a very simple way, he first thinks about an idea then he works on his images using AI software. "It's a way for me to express my emotions and my feelings. In itself, AI is not very complicated to use, what's hard is to incorporate your emotions into an image and send a message,” explains Guy.

"My message changes with each of my creations, but my main objective is to make the viewer think about what he sees. When I created the image of Shani Louk for example, I wanted to represent her happy, because we have a lot of photos where she appeared torn and naked. I wanted to honor her through my art and offer the public the most beautiful representation possible of Shani, smiling. It's a way of paying homage to her," assures the young man. Shani was assassinated on October 7 by Hamas in Nova.

Very far from political considerations, Guy does not seek to take sides, but rather to immerse himself in the context to show that the people of Israel must remain united more than ever. His posts on war give the opportunity to approach it in an original and positive way. Guy notably created a Magen David in smoke behind soldiers going to the front, to symbolize divine protection, or the former Prime Minister Golda Meir in smoke and her eyes on fire above Gaza, to symbolize power. Guy was also interested in the hostages, creating a portrait of Noa Argamani, who was released in June, holding a menorah, to represent the hope and miracles specific to the Hanukkah celebration.

“My goal is to constantly transmit positivity, because it is the essence of the Jewish people and it is what it helps us going on. When October 7 arrived, like everyone else, I was completely shocked in front of the television, I was paralyzed, I couldn't do anything, I relayed the information on social media, then I said to myself: as an artist, I must use my gift to serve the public", says Guy.

Gather and give strength

Very quickly, Guy set itself the mission of “strengthening his nation” through art. His posts were seen by more than a million people around the world and the reactions were very good. Guy received thousands of comments and messages thanking him for giving strength to a bruised community that has been experiencing tragedies for months.

"My perception of life has changed radically since October 7. Today, I think that life is very fragile, I only think after having acted, I enjoy more because you can die at any moment and this is reflected in my works. People from all over the world started talking to me and congratulating me and I understood that they felt, even from abroad, the tragedy in Israel. Through my content, I saw the immense impact of images and the power they have to unite a people around a common cause," explains Guy.

When the war started, a unique solidarity was established in Israel and this is what Guy wanted to highlight in his posts.

"Before October 7, the situation in Israel was not good, the society was terribly divided, and I am not surprised that something bad happened to us. That is why I chose symbols that speak to all of us. What unites people is talking about things they can identify with," explains the young man.

Guy also uses satire and humor to relax the heavy atmosphere and make people smile. He thus created the image of former Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi saying goodbye by jumping into the void, to celebrate his death, or the image of naked Palestinian prisoners who form "fuck hamas". His latest creation dates from this Wednesday morning, with the image of Hamas number 2, Ismail Haniyeh eliminated by an Israeli drone in Tehran, represented in front of flames and a devil with the caption: "welcome to hell".

“This is my way of participating in the effort to support Israel in its war against the enemy and to present the image of a strong and resilient country that has all the support of a united people behind it. We must maintain this unity everyday,” Guy concluded.
